The eco-sustainability question is one of the most important at the center of the political, economic, and social debate of recent decades. Awareness has grown that plastic, if not properly recycled, is an enemy material of the Earth. Therefore, it is necessary to limit its use. 
There are now innovative, non-petroleum-based materials available that are sustainable and biodegradable. 
For electrical and electronic products and components, due to heat/fire resistance, mechanical strength, and other factors, the possibilities for using such materials are, however, limited. For environmental gains, one is primarily 
looking for ways to reduce the use of plastics as well as ways to optimize recycling. In this respect, the use of biodegradable materials as a binder for PCBs appears promising as described in the second article below.

The annual Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) took place 14-17 March in Seoul, at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center.

This exhibition was co-hosted by Korea E&X, Korea Medical Device Cooperative, and Korea Medical Device Industry Association, and showed significant results in many areas, including the size of participating companies, number of visitors, and extent of export prospects.
