Brazil adds cyber security requirements for certain devices
Like many other countries, Brazil has during the past few years experienced significant increase in cyberattacks, whereby cybersecurity has become a high-profile issue with an increasing demand for regulations.
Compulsory Chinese certification of lithium-ion batteries and related products
The Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has now implemented mandatory certification requirement for Lithium-ion batteries, Battery Packs, Mobile Power supplies and Power adaptors/charges for telecommunication terminal products.
Proposed European rights for easing equipment repairs
Discarded products are often viable goods that can be repaired. Within the EU, this results yearly in 35 million tons of waste, and the loss for consumers by opting for replacement instead of repair is estimated at almost EUR 12 billion per year.
- Overwhelming interest for webinar about European cyber security On 2 March, Nemko arranged a webinar concerning cyber security updates in Europe. 460 people registered for this event, of which 262 actually participated and presented 50 questions.
- Agreement on cyber security testing in Korea On 3 March, Nemko signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korean Testing & Certification Institute (KTC).
Grand opening ceremonies in India and Korea + celebration of 90 years anniversary
In mid-March, Nemko Group celebrated the opening of new offices and testing laboratories in both India and Korea.
In India the opening ceremony at Faridabad outside New Delhi took place on 15 March, while in Korea at Gyeonggi-do nearby Seoul, the event took place two days later, on 17 March.
