This summer the climate crisis has shown clear signs, lately with extreme heatwaves and wildfires in many places in the world and extreme rainfall in other places. Research has for a long time established as a fact that the cause an unnatural increase of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. The big questions now are how and to which extent it can be stopped or preferably reversed. Replacing use of fossil fuel by more electrification is seen as a major part of the solution. This, however, will require amounts of metals and different minerals which are beyond what can be obtained by traditional means/solutions, as further considered in the third article below.

On 19 July there was an event in Korea to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the KOLAS accreditation system and also the World Accreditation Day.
Hosted by the governmental Korean Agency for Technology & Standards (KATS), the event was held to encourage related organizations that contributed to the establishment and development of the accreditation system and to declare its vision.
