The debate about the pros, cons and risks of Artificial lntelligence (AI) is sharpening up worldwide. How and for what it can be applied and how to control it. One thing is for sure, the possibilities are unimaginable. The need for regulatory control is evident, like in European, the EU AI Act referred in the fourth article below which is just published by the European Commission. The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is the European Union Directive (EU) 2019/882 which was launched in 2019. It complements the EuropeanWeb Accessibility Directiveand defines persons with disabilities in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD), from December 2006.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a transformative force across various sectors,offering significant advancements while also posing notable risks. The need for comprehensive public control worldwide is evident, and an example is the EU AI Act as just published by the European Commission on 12 July.
A service for safety assurance of digital technology was recently officially incorporated by Nemko in the Netherlands. This new service is denoted Nemko Digital and is regarded an exciting new chapter in Nemko’s development.

International cyber security certification of consumer products
The standard ETSI 303 645:2020 (Cyber Security for Consumer Internet of Things) was last year included under the category CYBR in theIECEE/CB Scheme, i.e. to allow for international certification of consumer IoT products. This may have significant impact on the certifications of cyber in the CB scheme since the standard covers the majority of product types which are otherwise certified for electrical safety within the scheme.
